We had a great week! My time back at work was super. It has been a smooth transition so far. Christopher is doing great at school - eating and napping like a champ. He's also moving into more consistent sleep at night - about 7 hours at a time!

This was the second evening after Christopher started school. He was tired! So cute!!

February Fun!

I'm headed back to work this week and Christopher is headed to "school." Chris will continue with his busy schedule and we will soon be in our groove and new routine. Wish us luck! These are just some pictures from the last few weeks.

Just hanging out....looking a little mischievious.

Sunday night fun - Brown and Christopher and the activity mat.

We had our first overnight away! We went to the Junior League Ball and stayed at the Anatole. Lollie and Christopher had their first slumber party - I think they both had a blast.

Dallas SNOW!

We thoroughly enjoyed the blanket of white we had last week. Christopher has seen more snow in his two months than I think I did during most of my childhood. This has been a crazy Texas winter...and we may get more this week!

Snow is exhausting!

Brown even liked it.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day 2010 was a very special day. We started our day at church and then went out for breakfast. We spent the rest of the day just bumming around as a family. I was spoiled by my boys and enjoyed wonderful gifts!

Ouchy

Today Christopher went in for his 2 month check up. All is well!

He is 22 3/4 inches long (he's grown about 4 inches since he was born) and he weighs 10 lbs, 11ozs (thats a gain of 3 lbs since he was born). Doc says he looks perfect...but then I have thought that all along.

He also got his first round of shots today. Mom and baby survived it but there were lots of tears - from us both. He has been fussy tonight and the only thing that seems to console him is being wrapped up in his Daddy's arms.

This picture isn't from tonight but it does show you how much Christopher loves his Daddy!

Two Months Old!

Well, here we are at two months old. I don't know Christopher's exact weight just yet. We go for his two month check up next week so I will be sure to give you his stats then. In the meantime, here he is with brown his dog.

In the last month:

  • he's smiling at us!

  • he's very alert to noises around him

  • he's sleeping like a champ most nights - anywhere between 6-7 hours!

  • we've decided on a daycare - he will be going to "school" at Dealey Child Care Center which is located at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas (where I used to work)

  • he has still had lots of visitors and many wonderful gifts brought to him

  • lots of his hair fell out and is growing back

  • his baby acne has cleared up tremendously

Last Friday Christopher went to visit his dad at his office. I think they both enjoyed it!!

Another night out!

Chris and I were treated to another night out last night. We attended a Junior League dinner and it was fun to see old friends again. We had a super time. Lolly came to stay with Christopher and they had a grand time. They must have had a really good time because he was an angel baby through the night - he slept from about 10:30pm - 5:30am. Yea!!

The Cowboy and his Man Purse

Byron and I had lunch this week and he commented on a car seat accessory that Christopher has. I found it particularly funny for some reason so I thought I would share it. If you look at the picture of him in his car seat you will see a small pouch on the left. This is for his pacifer in order to always have it close at hand. Byron asked if it was his man purse. So yes, he likes to carry his cash and cell phone in his mini man purse.

Thanks for the 'lil cowboy outift Mimi...goes great with his man purse. Haha!

Baptism by Fire

We had a great weekend. Saturday morning we attended a baptism class at our church. We took Christopher with us since I am a first-time, germ-phob, mom. He hasn't had his shots yet and has been healthy so I didn't want him in the nursery just yet. Toward the end of the class he started getting fussy so in an attempt to not disrupt the others Chris took him out of the room. At this very time we were holding lit candles (part of the children's godly play they were demonstrating) so Chris handed me his so they boys could step out. They then passed around the candle snuffer (??) and in some weird twist of my arms I poured hot wax on myself, my skirt and my tights. And in an effort to dodge the burning wax one of the candles caught my sweater on fire!!! I immediately mapped out the fastest route to the Parkland Burn Unit in my head. Apparently my sweater is flame retardant because with one pat it was out. I sort of got the giggles once I realized I wasn't going up in smoke. My reflexes were so fast (another benefit of motherhood??) I'm not sure anyone else even saw it. The class was soon over and as soon as we hit the parking lot I told Chris I caught myself on fire. His response, "in that short amount of time I was gone?" Yes, dear, um, fire moves fast. I made him sniff my sweater to prove it - had a nice burned aroma to it.

Saturday night we made it to two parties and it was fun to get out and about. Now, the evening ended early and with dinner from the Taco Bell drive thru, but hey, we made it out! We went to the family service at church Sunday and Christopher did great, again! He loves the music! And I promise, when I was pregnant he would dance and move around the most during the music at church. We had a nice, restful, family weekend.

Hello world! I so love this face.

Total cuteness.

Hanging out in the crib.

All stretched out in 'da crib. Notice how tight his outfit is...growing out of his newborn clothes already!
