Brow lift

Is it really true that babies change overnight? I think so. And I think they even change during the day too. My baby now has eyebrows. I've never thought about it before but today more than ever I noticed them. Blonde, full and perfect. As I watch him while he feeds it sometimes appears that he grows right before my eyes.

Just some cuteness!

So this week Christopher is 6 weeks old. We transitioned him from the bassinet in our room to his crib in the nursery. Transition, what transition? It was easy and he seems to like it! Probably glad to get some space from mom and dad. Haha! He looks so small in his big crib yet was beginning to grow out of his bassinet already. He is still a champ with his sleeping at night giving us at least 5 hours at a time these days.

Mimi's visit

Christopher's Mimi came to visit last week!

We had a great week of snuggles, kisses, picnics and breakfast out. Patsy stayed with him while I was able to run some errands and even get my nails done! What a treat. We took her to a couple of our favorite breakfast spots and we ventured out to the Dallas Arboretum on a gorgeous Dallas day for a picnic. Chris and I were also able to sneak away and see The Color Purple one night and she left us with a freezer full of homemade soup. Perfect for the cold weather coming our way once again this weekend. This past weekend we met up with Leslie, Hanna and Maddie in Wimberley, TX. Christopher got to meet his aunt and cousins for the first time! We stayed in a great cabin just outside of town. We spent some time in Wimberley exploring the square - we had lunch, ice cream and shopped a bit. Chris even got to go ziplining again. Such a great time with family.

Today we celebrated Chris' 42nd birthday. The three of us went to dinner at Eno's for our favorite pizza and celebrated with gifts and cupcakes! This weekend we are headed to Wimberley and Chris will get to go ziplining again like we did last year.

One Month Old!

It's Christopher's one month birthday. Where, oh where has the time gone? He has gained nearly 2 lbs since leaving the hospital and has grown about 2 1/2 inches already. Some of his newborn clothes are a little tight now. How can it already be time to pack some of his things away?!

He is so fun! He follows us with his eyes and has some good wakeful, alert time during the day. He's feeding great and sleeps like a champ.

The following is a list of some of the things he has done in the last month:

• Enjoyed a great arrival into this world at Parkland!


• Met Brown for the first time - mutual love and admiration.


• First Christmas - and a white Christmas at that!


• Attended church for the first time on Christmas Eve.


• 2 check-ups at the pediatrician - both times he got a thumbs up!


• Many meals out: El Fenix, Kuby's, John's, Chili's, etc.


• First bath


• Very strong neck and he holds his head up a lot!


• Lots of errands - Sam's, grocery store, CVS and of course, Babies R Us


• Has had numerous visitors - he is so loved by so many people.


• Lollie was his first babysitter last weekend and he looks forward to Mimi's visit next week - he loves his grandmothers and his grandfathers!


• He has been to visit both mom and dad's work offices.

My first bath!

Last week Christopher got his first, official bath. He was a little unsure about it at first but by the end he was a happy guy. We're hoping he likes water - between the Camp and Texoma he's going to be around a lot of water growing up!
